SCHEDULE

ANNUAL ELECTION 2011-2012
Members are hereby notified that the Annual Election for Members of the Executive Committee of Bin Qasim Association of Trade & Industry (BQATI) will be held on Wednesday 24th August 2011, between 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at BQATI Office, Port Qasim Authority, Old MCB Building, inside Port Area, Near Chairman Secretariat, Port Qasim, Karachi - 75020. In accordance with provision of Trade Organization Ordinance 2007, and rules made there under. The Election programme annexed herewith as approved by the members of Executive Committee.
VOTING RIGHT
Those Members who have completed Two Years of their valid Membership of BQATI (formally PQATI) as on the date of announcement of Election schedule and renewed their membership by July 15, 2011 will be entitled to cast vote.
Article 34 (b) 3
“The Proprietor, Partner or Director of the member firm or Company, concern or a person not below the rank of General Manager, authorized by the Board of Directors of Public Limited Company or Multinational Company, will be entitled to cast his/her vote at the time of Election, only if his or her name has already been Registered with the Secretary General and his or her name appears on the list of Voters.”
The signature obtained at the time of casting vote, must tally with the specimen signature card already deposited with the BQATI.
CHANGE OF REPRESENTATIVE
Any member firms desiring to change their representative shall intimate the changes to the Secretary General by Tuesday, July 19, 2011.
DISPLAY OF PROVISIONAL VOTING LIST
The provisional list of eligible voters shall be displayed on the notice board of BQATI’s office and BQATI website by Wednesday, July 20, 2011.
LAST DATE FOR RECEIVING OBJECTION TO THE ENTRIES IN THE VOTERS LIST
Last date for the receiving objection to the entries in preliminary list of Voters is Wednesday July 27, 2011.
INTIMATION BY SECRETARY ON THE OBJECTION OR CHANGES SENT BY MEMBERS
Objection, if any to the entries in the preliminary list of Voters received up to July 27, 2011 will examined by the Secretary General. The Secretary General will intimate action by Saturday, July 30, 2011 up to 5:00 PM taken by him on the objections or changes sent by the Members.
DISPUTE AGAINST THE DECISION ON THE SECRETARY
The dispute pertaining to the eligibility of a member who is aggrieved by the decision of the Secretary General received up to Wednesday August 3, 2011 would be referred to the Election Commission.
MEETING OF ELECTION COMMISSION FOR DECIDING THE DISPUTE
The Meeting of the Election Commission for deciding the dispute pertaining to the eligibility of a member aggrieved by the decision of the Secretary General on Thursday August 4, 2011 .
CIRCULATION OF FINAL LIST OF VOTERS & ISSUANCE OF AGENDA NOTICE FOR AGM
The provisional list of eligible voters shall be displayed on the notice board of BQATI’s office and BQATI website by Saturday, August 6, 2011.
PROPOSERS, SECONDERS & CANDIDATES
The prescribed nomination forms filled in neatly and duly proposed, seconded and signed in the appropriate column would be filled by any person who is eligible to contest the election for the vacant post of Executive Committee Members.
ISSUANCE AND RECEIPT OF NOMINATION PAPERS FOR THE ELECTION OF Executive Committee.
Nomination papers prescribed by the BQATI will be issued on request in writing and received working day during Office hours by Thursday, August 11, 2011.
LAST DATE FOR RECEIVING NOMINATION PAPERS
Last date for receiving of Nomination Papers Thursday, August 11, 2011.
ISSUANCE OF FINAL LIST OF CANDIDATES BY THE ELECTION COMMISSION AND CIRCULATION LIST OF CONTESTING CANDIDATES
A list of valid nomination will be circulated by Friday, August 12, 2011.
LAST DATE OF RECEIVING OBJECTION TO THE NOMINATION OF THE CANDIDATES
The Election Commission will receive objection from the candidates till Saturday, August 13, 2011.
DECISION ON THE ELECTION COMMISSION ON NOMINATIONS
The Election Commission will take decision on objection raised by Candidates on the Nomination on Tuesday, August 16, 2011.
CIRCULATION OF VALID NOMINATIONS
The Election Commission will circulate list of valid nomination on Wednesday, August 17, 2011.
LAST DATE FOR WITHDRAWAL OF NOMINATIONS
Last date for withdrawal of nomination to avoid appearance, candidates name on the ballot Paper on Friday, August 19, 2011.
ISSUANCE OF CANDIDATES LIST BY THE ELECTION COMMISSION
The Election Commission will issue the final list of candidates on Saturday, August, 20, 2011 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
ELECTION OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
The Election of the Executive Committee will be held by secret Ballot on Wednesday 24th August 2011 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM
ELECTION OF THE OFFICE BEARERS
The Members of Executive will Elect Office bearers by Secret Ballot on Wednesday 24th August 2011 between 2:00 to 3:00 PM
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERS
Meeting of Executive Committee Members will be held on Wednesday 24th August 2011 at 3:30 PM.
MEETING OF ANNUAL GENERAL BODY MEMBERS
Meeting of ANNUAL General Body Members will be held on Wednesday 7th September 2011 at 2:30 PM in Country Club
IDENTIFICATION
The Voter will have to produce original National Identity Card or Passport or any other mode identification, whose number would be recorded on the counterfoil at the time of casting of Vote.
PROGRAMME FOR ELECTION 2011-2012
1. Circulation of Election Notice, Issuance of Wednesday 13th July 2011, Preliminary List of Voters.
2. Last Date for receiving changes of Name of Tuesday 19th July 2011, Authorized representative, Objection etc. If any on the preliminary List of Voters.
3. The Secretary will intimate action on the Wednesday 27th July 2011, Objections or changes sent by the Members.
4. Dispute against the decision of the Secretary Saturday 30th July 2011, General shall be referred to the Election Commission.
5. Meeting of the Election Commission for Thursday 4th August 2011, deciding the dispute pertaining to the eligibility of a Member aggrieved by the decision of the Secretary.
6. Circulation of Final list of Voters and issuance Saturday August 06, 2011, of Agenda Notice for Annual General Meeting.
7. Issuance and receipt of Nomination Papers for Thursday August 11, 2011, Election of the Executive Committee.
8. Last date for receiving of Nomination Papers Thursday August 11, 2011.
9. Issuance of List of candidates by the Election Friday 12th August 2011 Commission & Circulation to the contesting Candidates
10. Last date of receiving objections to the Saturday 13th August 2011, Nomination of the candidates.
11. Decision of the Election Commission on Tuesday 16th August 2011, Nomination.
12. Circulation of valid nominations. Wednesday 17th August 2011.
13. Last date for withdrawal of nomination to Friday 19th August 2011 Avoid appearance candidate’s name on the Ballot Paper.

During entire Election process BQATI Office timing will be as follow:
- Monday to Saturday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
